Piccolo Violino is a large scale interactive sculpture. The instrument will be 11 feet long and 4 feet wide and will stand upright allowing participants to play the laser harp. Its dynamic strings (clear plastic encased LED lights) and exterior lighting will be synced with the harp and internal audio system. Interrupting the laser beams will prompt a change in color of the exterior lights and music to be played. This violin is the first in a series of 3 large-scale and interactive instruments (il Violino, la Viola & il Violoncello) that will ultimately be displayed together as a string trio.
